Facebook had developed a couple innovative ways of displaying their network activity using a globe. The video is worth taking a look at, however, the speaker leaves a bit to be desired.
If you are like me, you figure that trip insurance is a total scam. They take huge premiums and you have to fight them tooth and nail for any type of payment. Well, recently I took a trip to Africa (you can see on of the few photos I took posted below). Going on safari in Africa, all the books say “you have to get evacuation insurance”; something to pull you out of the bush in case you get eaten by a lion or bitten by a snake. Well, any place you purchase this evacuation insurance, bundles it with trip insurance… so I thought what the heck, I’ll get it.
Unfortunately, I had to return from Africa early because of a medical emergency (I won’t go into it), but thought, great… perfect time to see if this trip insurance will actually pay out. With very little hassle… just 1 appeal to prove that it wasn’t a pre-existing condition, the trip insurance actually paid out. I can’t believe it. Got the checks yesterday, and am pretty pleases that there is actually an insurance company that makes good on their promises.
I was always commenting on how clean I thought the Obama signs and presentation material was. Thought this was an interesting article on the thought process behind the designs.

While online viewers watched a police officer prodding the Florida teen to see if he was alive, their chat comments ranged from OMG to LOL.

Terminology » LOLEG.comOne of my professors always spends the first class of his poli sci courses forcing students to define “the Middle East” and “the West”. (The “answer” is that the terms are essentially meaningless, so we should stop using them and being dumb.) I also hate the term “Third World”, because it is meaningless unless you are talking about Cold War-era policies.
